Hunger in California

California has the largest population in the United States, which sadly means that more people in the state fight hunger regularly. 5.4 million people in California face food insecurity, which is over 11% of the entire population of the state. Of these people one out of every seven children struggles with hunger. Unemployment and poverty is a direct outcome of food insecurity, and some regions of California have the highest rates of unemployment in the entire country. In order to meet the needs of these individuals, more than 2 billion dollars is needed. We must find an alternative in order to fight hunger in our home state in a more timely, accessible manner, and that way is through RoundTable.
