Hunger in South Florida

About 11% of the South Florida population is food insecure, leaving 706,430 people not knowing where their next meal is coming from. 17% of the food insecure population does not qualify for federal nutrition programs and must rely on emergency food assistance programs to meet their basic needs. 18.9% of children in South Florida are food insecure and rely on their public schools for breakfast and lunch. Because of the closing of schools due to COVID-19, many of these children now skip these meals. RoundTable is hoping to relieve the stress of food insecurity and ultimately live in a world where we can support each other to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry.

Miami Restaurant Culture

Miami’s blend of cultures from around the world makes it a melting pot for delicious food. At RoundTable, our mission is to make sure that no one goes to bed hungry, and what better way to do so than by bringing customers into local restaurants to contribute to the small business community. A 2019 Forbes article recognized Miami as the number one city for small business growth and we hope that even during these uncertain times we are able to continue to support Miami locals.  Listed below are some Black and Latinx owned restaurants that are sure to bring the taste of authentic Miami.
